final report
In news media practicum, I've learned a lot about the broadcast industry. I've learned that it is always changing and new technologies are constantly influencing the face of broadcasting. I've also learned how to run the audio board for the studio, as well as how to properly cover a basketball game. This includes: setting up the tripod so it is level, attaching the camera to the tripod, getting the proper shot. I was also taught how to properly use the camera, including how to change the tape and battery as well as how to take down all the equipment after using it. I learned the inner workings of the studio and how to properly run a sports show production. I have also learned how procrastination is very detrimental in this field. Making deadlines and time management is extremely important in this field and I have come to realize how soon deadlines approach even though they seem distant. I feel that even after my first semester, I am more knowledgable in my field of study and well on my way to taking lessons learned in the classroom and hands-on in the field and in the studio and using them for internships and even my career in the future.

500 words? You probably could have included more.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised you weren't more involved this semester given that you already know how to edit.
I kinda postponed getting my hours done and it came back to bite me in the end. The reason its so short was because, while I did learn a lot about the way things are run in the studio as well as in the field, the spectrum of my activities wasn't exactly broad. My hours mostly consisted of studio time and basketball games. I apologize for my lack of time management this semester and, looking forward, I know I can manage my time better now that I have this semester under my belt. I will definitely be more involved this coming semester, and from here on out. Thank you for your time.
