Interview with Tracy for SSN 12/6/12 2 HR (6 Total)
Today I was on camera for the first time interviewing Tracy Fosterling for the SSN. We were understaffed again but were able to pull through. We went through the entire interview on the first take after a few minutes of preparation. After the interview I helped Jordan import the clip onto Final Cut and do everything we needed until Jeanine comes to edit afterwards.
SSN Taping 12/5/12 1 HR 4 Total
We taped the final installment of the Sports Show. We were very understaffed but due to the help of Dr. Bradford, we were able to make due. I was taught how to work the teleprompter and used it for the first time. Other than the fact that Tracy didn't show up for her interview, the show went on without a hitch.

Final Report Spring Sem. Practicum
This semester I did a lot of work with Men's and Women's lacrosse games as opposed to taping the sports show for the majority of my hours like last semester due to an overlap in classes in relation to the show. Despite this, I got a lot of hours done this semester and I feel like I have learned to better manage my time. I learned that it is not too hard to get hours but one might need to sacrifice going out and having fun with friends in order to get work done. I had to learn on the fly how to film men's and women's lacrosse games. I learned that they are two different styles of the same sport and need to be captured differently in order to maintain a good shot and have usable highlights. Some of these differences include having wider shots in Men's lacrosse games because, since they are a lot faster and pass the ball quicker, in order to maintain the ball in the shot as well as context, you need to capture where the ball is coming from and where it is going effectively. The converse is true for women's lacrosse because they are slower and pass the ball with less ferocity so it is not a necessity to get such a wide shot. When more broadcast students started coming to the lacrosse games, I was able to teach them some of the things I have learned by working these games and in turn learned how to effectively communicate different shot styles and techniques these games. I also got a little taste of editing for the first time on campus. I have used final cut pro on my own time but, through the help of others in the studio, I was able to increase my knowledge of the latest edition of final cut pro and how to use it to make good highlights. I also used the studio's mini-DV capture device and learned how to use it as well as the log and capture function on the studio editing stations. During my limited time working the sports show early this semester, I learned a little more about running the audio for the production and certain site specific instructions for running the audio board. Also, John Luti was kind enough to refresh my memory on how to over under wrap cables. He instructed that it was very important and will be beneficial in one's professional life in the Broadcast industry. I feel I have learned a lot this semester and I hope to be even more involved next semester in order to increase my knowledge of the industry as a whole.

Taped and took time codes for mens lax game. We had a bit of a problem because some of the batteries weren't charged fully so he changed the battery twice throughout the course of the game
4/10/12 Edited Men's Lax footage 3 hours (32 total)
Edited footage of men's lax game. Experienced problems with saving the edited files to the computer. The computer kept reading that the files were unknown files. Me and my fellow editors tried to correct the problem tirelessly. We called Jordan and she said that it happens from time to time and to leave the computer on in order work on it before the show.

Sports show 1/25 1.5 hours (1.5 total)
We taped the first sports show of the year. Dakota talked about upcoming sports events that would be good opportunities for hours. I worked the audio board for the show. It took a little longer than expected waiting for the girl we were supposed to interview from the swim team. I stayed a little later to help put away some equipment and John taught me how to properly roll up XLR cables.
